Main Material Types Of Hydraulic Hoses

Feb 13, 2026

The main materials used for hydraulic hoses include copper pipes, steel pipes, rubber hoses, nylon hoses, and plastic hoses. Each material has its own advantages and disadvantages, and is suitable for different applications.

Copper Pipes: Copper and brass pipes have good thermal conductivity and corrosion resistance, but lower strength, making them suitable for medium and low-pressure hydraulic systems. Copper pipes are flexible and easy to bend, while brass pipes have higher strength.

Steel Pipes: Steel pipes have high strength, high rigidity, good pressure resistance, and oil resistance. They are widely used in high-pressure, high-power hydraulic systems. Seamless steel pipes are commonly used in medium and high-pressure systems, while welded steel pipes are suitable for low-pressure systems.

Rubber Hose: Rubber hoses are flexible, shock-absorbing, and noise-reducing, making them suitable for connecting components with relative movement. High-pressure rubber hoses are made of oil-resistant rubber and a steel wire braided layer, while low-pressure rubber hoses are reinforced with canvas.

Nylon and Plastic Hoses: Nylon hoses have high transparency, allowing observation of hydraulic oil flow, and are suitable for medium and low-pressure systems. Plastic pipes are oil-resistant and inexpensive, but have low pressure resistance and are mainly used in low-pressure pipeline systems such as return oil pipes and drain oil pipes.
